What makes you happy? For example what's one thing you do when you're sad or in a bad mood and then you do this and it makes you feel better or even happy?

writing a joke about why it's silly to be sad

like last night I was have an existential crisis thinking about how I've accomplished everything I ever wanted to and it didn't make me happy

and I think you should be able to kill yourself if you don't wanna live, you were put here without permission so why not? but you're not wired in a such way that its just that easy to take your own life -- anyone suffering person that hasn't found meaning in the suffering would prolly do it if it was that easy (I mean, it's an escape rope) -- but it's not easy so all you can do is ask for an amazing life in exchange for having to live in the first place

that made me laugh for a bit bc I thought that was a really funny thing to ask "I'll live on earth but it better be amazing otherwise I dont wanna exist"

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Hard thing to answer. I really do, for lack of a better word, hate my life. I have extreme PTSD and my job is on hold until I am fully recovered. I don't have any friends or ever go out. Weekends are meaningless. To be honest, I just post here. Or I go out on my boat and fish or swim. Unfortunately, because of an infected open wound, I can't swim which I love to do. Kind of one of the only perks of living on a lake surrounded by very little human civilization  .

When I'm back to 100%, I don't mean to say this so people feel bad for me or anything but I know I won't be happy at all. The only thing I can do is keep distracting myself with work, World of Warcraft (new expansion bro), swimming before summer ends and writing. If I stop or stutter, my mind can hit some pretty nasty places, so, I try to keep busy no matter what.

If I'm having a PTSD episode, a violent barrage on a heavy bag usually gets me back to 'normal', though, to more directly answer the question of when I'm in a particularly bad mood. If there isn't a heavy bag, well, fist meets walls.

Sorry for the depressing post.

What will you do when you get old?

The only thing really is playing with and being with my dogs. They're really the only light in my life. Without them, I probably would have committed suicide a few years back. They're probably the only reason stopping me from doing so now, too.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

There are various things that make me happy, most of them small. Talking and laughing with friends, watching a good TV show, reading a good book, playing or watching basketball, walking while listening to podcasts, watching stand-up comedy. However, they're almost always fleeting moments that I tear down just as quickly as they appear, or I just don't let myself feel happy from them (i.e. they're insignificant moments in the grand scheme of things).

What grand scheme
The grand scheme of my life. Like, say I feel happy because I'm enjoying doing something (reading, basketball, watching a TV show etc), it doesn't take long before I belittle myself for feeling happy over something small/something that doesn't matter, or remind myself that I'm still unhappy with the way my life is, the way I am etc. I'm aware that that's a very counter-productive thought process, since if the goal is to be happy, then belittling being happy doesn't make sense, but a lot of my depressive thought chains aren't particularly logical.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.
